I was born in Guatemala and I now live in Western Australia. I play with Dizzy Planet and Last Quokka, both bands based in Fremantle. With Dizzy Planet, we have recorded three EPs: “You Don’t Know If I’m Going to Change”, “Back Brake Pedal” and “SHELLSHOCK” which can be found on digital platforms.
I joined Last Quokka in 2021. We released our first album together as a 5-piece-band in May 2023, and it has been nominated for the 19th Australian Music Prize. We won best punk/hardcore act of the state on the WAM Awards, 2023. We have toured twice the east coast during 2022 and 2023, having played shows in Adelaide, Queensland, New South Whales and Victoria, and we remain very active playing constantly between Perth and Fremantle. We have supported artists such as Amyl and The Sniffers, These New South Whales, Sleaford Mods, Regurgitator and participated in festivals such as CHOPPED ’22. Our second album together is ready and it will be released in February 2025, with the singles Cost Of Living and OTC already out. One more to go before 2024 ends.
I started playing the drums in 2005 with my first band Miss Lilith, back in Guatemala, while studying at Poliritmos (2007-2009). With Miss Lilith we recorded several singles during 2012, an EP “La Muerte También Muere” (“Death Also Dies”) during 2014 and an unreleased album of 8 songs (2009-2010). We played in Guatemala City and in different states. We also played festivals in Costa Rica and El Salvador. Between 2013 and 2017, I also played with different projects and different artists such as Soapbox (Rodrigo Rosales), Cameo Drive, El Suchi, Entropya and Demasiado Humano. I have received lessons from different legendary teachers such as José López, Vinicio Molina, Fernando Martín and El Chava.
