About
visual arts bio
Growing up surrounded by my father’s collections of art books and magazines provided me with endless references and inspirational sources throughout my life, until I moved to Australia….
But he is never far away for guidance. And now one has internet.
Since I moved from Guatemala more than four years ago, I had traveled throughout Australia with camera in hand, capturing wild plants, turquoise beaches, birds in flight or moving around, crawling reptiles, and thanks to my beautiful Australian family… farm life.
I love experimenting as well, so I have found a lot of inspiration in photography from mid 1900 and the surrealist movement, which have influenced me into my “more abstract” or “more artistic” photography. A little less pretty, a little bit darker.
As a drummer, I know how it feels to be on stage, and I love capturing those moments. Every performance is unique. I can connect with music even better when it is a small gig rather than a full stadium.
My three years at the university studying graphic design gave me a lot of useful tools to be creative digitally and in a variety of other media. I love to experiment with different materials and techniques, hence my pyrography and acrylic series.
Hope you enjoy… Cheers!
